FLUORESCENT LAMP COMPONENTS
The internal phosphor coating inside the bulb transforms ultraviolet energy created inside the lamp into light. Color of the light produced depends on the composition of the phosphors.
Compact fluorescent bulbs are made of glass tubes filled with gas and a small amount of mercury.
Hot cathodes at each end of the lamp are coated with emissive materials which emit electrons. Usually made up of coiled-coil or single coiled tungsten wire.
Lead-in Wires connects to the base pins carrying the current to and from the cathodes and mercury arc.
